We are a string quartet (two violins, viola and a cello) that provides music for special event including wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, receptions, and private parties. We have an extensive repertoire list including classical, jazz, celtic, movie and popular music.

C'ville String Quartet was formed in the year 2001 in Oklahoma under the name of Arpeggione String Quartet. In 2005, the first violinist and music director of the quartet settled in Virginia with his family to continue his teaching and performing career. He believes that high quality music should not be enclosed and capsuled only in a concert hall. Most music written in the baroque and classical periods were written for banquets, weddings, arrival of kings and queens, hunting gatherings and such. Even one of  Bach's most well-known compositions "The Goldberg Variations" for clavichord was written to help a noble man from insomnia. Musicians like Bach, Haydn, Mozart and many other composers had to write music for these events for enjoyment of the court's guests and as a way of displaying the cultural world of the nobleman hosting the celebration. Composers took their work seriously. They wrote music far and beyond the expectations of any professional musician. In other words, it was not just "a gig". The members of the C'ville String Quartet perform with this in mind whether guests appreciate or not the art of music performance. One thing the C'ville String Quartet knows-Their audiences will be delighted with the sonority of such beautiful instruments and the beauty of the music performed live.

Today, the members of the C'ville String Quartet are professional musicians who perform regularly with the Roanoke Symphony, The Richmond Symphony, and other professional ensembles in the region. Some of the musicians are also active faculty members in the music departments of the University of Virginia, Eastern Menonite University, James Madison University,and the Piedmont Virginia Community College. The C'ville String Quartet has performed numerous weddings and receptions in Virginia's most beautiful venues like Keswick Hall, The Clifton Inn, Farmington Club, and The Boars' Head Inn to mention a few.
